![]() You can update from Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard to OS X 10.11 El Capitan directly from the Mac App Store. You can't install macOS 10.13 High Sierra immediately after Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard, as the macOS 10.13 High Sierra installer requires that you have OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion or newer installed, otherwise it won't start up. Once Snow Leopard is installed, update it all the way up to version 10.6.8: You can either search for a Snow Leopard installer on the web - which I don't recommend, because you don't know whether or not the source is trustworthy and whether or not the installer really works - or you can buy a Snow Leopard installer disc off eBay: Since you'll need the Mac App Store for this, which Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard doesn't have, the first step is to install Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard. The first way is to update the machine all the way up to macOS 10.13 High Sierra. There are two ways to get High Sierra unto this machine: If it's the white plastic MacBook from 2009, then it even supports macOS 10.13 High Sierra. ![]()
